Julia Gluesing is a business and organizational anthropologist and Research Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Wayne State University. 
Ken Riopelle is an educator, entrepreneur, management consultant and Research Professor at Wayne State University. His professional career spans over 40 years in both the auto industry and academia.

Abstract: 
Resources and demonstration with a focus on four software packages: Atlas.ti, Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC), WORDij, and Condor.

The purpose of this text analysis workshop is threefold:

  1. To provide a brief overview of the text analysis resources and software for students and faculty who need to analyze text from surveys, interviews, newspaper articles, blogs, email, twitter or other text sources.

  2. Provide a more in depth demonstration of four software tools: Atlas.ti, LIWC, WORDij, and Condor.

  3. Provide a one-on-one opportunity for participants' to discuss their own research and text analysis strategies with the guest lecturers on Friday by appointment.
