Sociological Theory, Social Differentiation, and Governance Regimes

Theoretical research activities focus on the elaboration of an actor-based theory of modern society which combines perspectives on functional differentiation, inequality, culture, and capitalism.

Empirical topics which are investigated with these theoretical tools, and supplementary concepts and models from organizational research and studies of decision-making, are dynamics of various societal spheres such as science or education, and the conduct of life of the middle classes.
