Georg Haustein has been a doctoral student at the University of Bremen since 2026 and a research
associate in the working group of Prof. Dr. Sophia Hunger, as well as in the Collaborative Research
Centre 1342 (CRC) as part of the Information Infrastructure Project (INF).

Previously, he worked as a data analyst in political communication from 2022 to 2026. He studied
political science at the bachelor's and master's level at Freie Universität Berlin. In addition, he obtained a master's degree in management from HEC Paris, as well as a bachelor's degree from Sciences Po Paris.

His research focuses on computational social science (CSS) and discourse analysis. As part of his
work in the CRC 1342, he investigates the application of multimodal methods for processing images
and videos in protest research and social policy.
